La serie de HBO Succession se llevó el premio a la mejor serie dramática en la 74ª edición de los premios Primetime Emmy 2022, que se entregaron en la tradicional ceremonia celebrada anoche en Los Ángeles. También se encuentran entre los ganadores los programas Ted Lasso, The White Lotus y la serie coreana de Netflix Squid Game.
Para Succession es la segunda victoria tras ganar el premio a la mejor serie dramática en 2020. El programa de comedia de Apple TV+ Ted Lasso se llevó a casa su segundo Emmy consecutivo a la mejor serie de comedia, mientras que The White Lotus ganó el premio a la mejor serie limitada o de antología.
También hubo un gran éxito para Squid Game, que vio cómo Lee Jung-jae se convertía en el primer actor asiático en ganar un Emmy al mejor actor principal en una serie dramática, y para la estrella de Euphoria, Zendaya, que fue elegida de nuevo mejor actriz de drama. En el sector de la comedia, la estrella de Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis, y la intérprete de Hacks, Jean Smart, que ganó por segunda vez consecutiva, obtuvieron los premios a la mejor interpretación.
Euphoria y Squid Game terminaron la noche con seis estatuillas cada una, seguidas a cinco por Adele: One Night Only y el drama de Peter Jackson The Beatles: Get Back, que no recibió nominaciones al Primetime Emmy.
