Anoche se estregaron, por primera vez, los Premios MTV Movie & TV Awards. Una actualización de los clásicos MTV Movie Awards que, a partir de 2017, suman televisión a sus ternas. La premisa principal de estas premiaciones era la integración y diversidad, esto debido a que se agregó a la televisión y películas en las mismas categorías y a mujeres y hombres sin distinción de género.
La gran ganadora del año fue la serie Stranger Things, de Netflix, que se lleva 2 trofeos a «Mejor serie del año» y «Mejor actor/actriz» para Millie Bobby Brown, la popular Eleven. en «Mejor Villano» el premio recayó en Jeffrey Dean Morgan por su papel de Negan en The Walking Dead.
